Blue Star CPS' Board Organizes for New Year

CPS’ Board of Education elected new officers for 2009 at its organizational meeting on January 5. Eileen Cooper-Reed was elected president, and Melanie Bates was elected vice president.

For the first time in 14 years, the enrollment decline in CPS has come to a virtual halt. The district's K-12 October enrollment was 33,400 — essentially flat from the 33,505 enrollment of October 2007.
